Masters Students from ULK Gisenyi Campus engage in Community Service, assisting 200 residents of CYANZARWE Sector with Health Insurance payments

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, ULK Gisenyi Campus Master’s students and the management team, led by Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academi, Hagumiman Frank, participated in community service (Umuganda) alongside the residents of the Cyanzarwe sector in Rubavu district. This collaborative effort was also attended by prominent local leaders, including Dr. Kabano Ignace, Chairperson of the Rubavu District Council, the Vice Mayor for Social Affairs, and the Executive Secretary of the Cyanzarwe sector.

During this initiative, the ULK community demonstrated the commitment of Kigali Independent University (ULK Gisenyi Campus) to enhancing the well-being of local residents. The Master’s program students contributed significantly by funding health insurance for 200 individuals, totaling Frw 600,000. Both the community members and district officials expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the ongoing partnership with the university, highlighting the positive impact of their collective efforts in building a brighter future for the country.
